2012 Feast was a Night to Remember

2012 Feast Guests at DinnerThe 2012 Feast of Five Senses was the most successful one ever, thanks to an amazing group of volunteer event organizers and chefs, generous silent auction donors, host venue The Alta Club, and most importantly our Feast guests. Our deepest gratitude to everyone involved. Special recognition is due to many people without whom this event would not be possible:

  • Jude Rubadue, chef wrangler and event planner extraordinaire;
  • Gwen Crist, whose tireless work as Slow Food Utah board chair in 2011-2012 culminated in this event;
  • Rebecca Blumenthal, silent auction coordinator whose organizational talents never cease to amaze;
  • Brian Edwards, who arranged for the Alta Club to host the event, and served up a remarkable course as one of the guest chefs (“feast makers”);
  • Andrew Stone, who built the new website in time for the Feast and also designed the invitations and menus;
  • Additional feast makers Greg Neville of Lugano, Nathan Powers of Bambara, Kassie Little of Liberty Heights Fresh, Amber Billingsley of Vinto, Phelix Gardner of Finca, Romina Rasmussen of Les Madeleines, and Ethan Lappe of Caffe Niche;
  • Julie Clifford of Clifford Family Farm for donation of a pig, as well as numerous local food producers whose items were showcased in the meal; Feastmakers at Work
  • Frances Fecteau of Libation for wine pairings and education;
  • Uinta Brewing for beer pairings;
  • The exceptional Alta Club servers and staff; and
  • All of the volunteers who helped with Feast tasks large and small. If we failed to mention you by name, accept our sincerest thanks and gratitude nonetheless – you know who you are.

Most importantly, this event is in honor of all of the local food artisans, teachers and advocates, farmers and ranchers who inspire us daily. Net proceeds from the Feast provide annual microgrants to help as many people and organizations making a difference locally as possible.
