A Slow Food USA Convivium

Summer in a Jar – Best of the Last

A preservation series presented by:

The Downtown Farmers Market, Slow Food Utah, Wasatch Community Gardens, Harmons City Creek and Edible Wasatch.

Join us for a series of events that celebrate and preserve the flavors of the harvest. We will teach you how to preserve the bounty from your garden or the farmers market in a variety of ways. You can learn what to do to properly can your tree fruit and tomatoes. We will talk about how to preserve tasty treats, condiments, sauces and salsas, so you can enjoy the flavors of summer all year long. Whatever you have been wanting to preserve, we have a class for you. We will also have opportunities for you to pick-up seasonal guides, and to see demonstrations and get advice from expert canners.

Best of the Last: We save the last class for the best of the fall harvest, creating lovely giftable jars to share with friends over the holidays, or bring some zing to your spring. Onions, green tomatoes, beans, and more will stuff our jars using a water bath canner.
