A preservation series presented by:
The Downtown Farmers Market, Slow Food Utah, Wasatch Community Gardens, Harmons City Creek and Edible Wasatch.
Join us for a series of events that celebrate and preserve the flavors of the harvest. We will teach you how to preserve the bounty from your garden or the farmers market in a variety of ways. You can learn what to do to properly can your tree fruit and tomatoes. We will talk about how to preserve tasty treats, condiments, sauces and salsas, so you can enjoy the flavors of summer all year long. Whatever you have been wanting to preserve, we have a class for you. We will also have opportunities for you to pick-up seasonal guides, and to see demonstrations and get advice from expert canners.
Tomatoes Redux: Tomatoes are the favorite of summer, so we need two classes to get all their goodness in a jar! It’s a water bath technique once more for tomato sauces, salsas, and other delicious recipes.
