Slow Food Farm Mob with the Punk Rock Farmer
Slow Food Farm Mobs have been around for many years in the Utah chapter. This is a great way for the community to support local farms with a service project to give a lift with our many hands. On April 12, our call to action is at Cress Farms, a wonderful shared space and urban oasis that supports Punk Rock Farm and the Urban Pepper Project. We are seeking 8 volunteers to gather for work and a pot luck.
Dirt, Sweat & Connection: April 12, 1 – 4 pm
Growing your own food is an act of resistance: Against broken systems. Against disconnection. Against boring weekends. Join the Punk Rock Farmer and Slow Food Utah for a hands-in-the dirt Farm Mob! We will be moving compost and other soil amendments, prepping rows and laying irrigation. Together we can bust this out quickly and ensure a fertile year of growth at this urban farming oasis.
Please bring a snack or dish to share if you are able. It wouldn’t be a Slow Food event without fabulous bites, right?
Location: General location (central Millcreek) Exact location will be sent via email 2 days prior. Keep an eye on your inbox.
Pot Luck: We will have plates and utensils. We are expecting 10 people. Remember to bring a water bottle or cups.
