April 11, Fruiting and Cooking Oyster Mushrooms
Katie Lawson, with Fungal Focus, is a local mushroom expert. Her organization is on a mission to support and expand the community of mushroom growers and fungal advocates in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. A few years back, she received a Slow Food Microgrant to support these efforts. We have been so proud to watch Fungal Focus grow and offer affordable grow kits and workshops for mushroom lovers of all ages.
On April 11, join Katie at the Harmons Cooking School to learn how to care for, harvest, and prepare oyster mushrooms. We’ll learn about the fungal lifecycle, how to grow oyster mushrooms, and get preparation tips from a professional chef! Registrants will receive a take home oyster mushroom grow kit, instructions for its care and harvest and a link to a digital mini cookbook.
